I somewhat knew what the Survivors Pageant and Mending Heart Retreat was about but I had no clue of all of the transformational moments. I wanted to be a part of it for a year prior and when I was chosen, I was beyond happy. I laughed, cried, and voiced my frustrations with cancer but I walked away each and every day with a new outlook on LIFE!
I have never won anything in school and at times had low self esteem before the cancer so to be crowned Ms. CLF was an honour and a feeling that I could never express. This was truly my moment! The education and pajama party will always be in my heart.

The weekend was amazing! I was able to create new friendships or should I say sisters.....I felt alive but emotional because of all the courageous stories I heard. The seminars were wonderful and very informative. The food was great! The surprises were breath taking. I am a breast cancer survivor and sometimes your self esteem is compromised but boy did I feel my esteem increasing by the moment. The make over was wonderful and the pampering was so needed. I felt ALIVE! The Survivor Pagant and Mending heart Retreat is what every survivor needs.
I was aprehensive at first because of my language barrier and I didnt truly understand the concept but Michelle made sure hat there was a translator there for me and another latin survivor. We felt so special. I laughed so much that weekend. The ladies were so encouraging and full of LOVE! I learned so much about prevention and the importance of being an advocate. I danced at the Pajama party and felt so alive with the other ladies. I left wanting to make sure that i spread the message of living in the moment. I am not only surviving,I am living!
